About Us

After managing a vintage poster linen-backing/ paper conservation studio in NYC, we brought our art background, love of works of art on paper, and skill in the field of art conservation to the craft of picture framing.  Since 1997, Brooklyn Frame Works has maintained the philosophy that fine craftsmanship and design is well worth the time spent in its process. Brooklyn Frame Work’s motto, “Crafting Quality One Frame at a Time,” is a promise of our dedication to the proper handling and treatment of art and its relation to frame design and construction.

Our Staff…

…consists of artists and crafts-persons with 25 + years of experience in picture framing, and related fields of art. We are all very hands-on people who share a high degree of respect for art and take pride in a well-designed, well-executed project — all with a keen attention to detail.

We regularly do work for businesses both large and small as well as for many individuals, families, working artists and designers living in Brooklyn and the greater NYC area.

Our Mission…

At Brooklyn Frame Works our focus has always been about the art. We always strive to provide the best solutions for the finest results when it comes to the care and presentation of art. Given the time and consideration you’ve put into your home’s decor and furnishings, why not let us help you design and craft the perfect treatment for the art you’ve selected — to achieve harmony for your home, office or business? Brooklyn Frame Works has been serving the Park Slope, Brooklyn NY community since 1997. We provide custom picture framing with an emphasis on museum-quality conservation. Our experienced and helpful design staff will be on hand to guide and inform your decisions.

Why “custom framing?” Well, while most of our clients understand the difference between the dramatic results possible from high-quality custom framing and a standard, ready-made frame one might purchase “off-the-shelf,” there are some who we encounter we feel might benefit from some additional information. Custom picture framing is a craft, not unlike many other specialized services. Quality materials, keen attention to detail and a high level of experience will bring about the best results. Truth is, the vast majority of art one might wish to frame is of a custom size. Frames to fit art can rarely be bought “off-the-shelf.” The unfortunate reality is that customization does not cost the same as a standard size, ready-made frame. The good news is that the results are going to look a lot better! (and furthermore, last a lot longer) and also, we do offer some less costly solutions. Still not sure that custom framing is for you?
