F.A.Q.
Q: Why is custom framing so expensive?
A:  The materials in custom framing can range from modestly
priced to fairly costly. High quality custom framing takes time and
a good deal of experience to insure the best results.

Q: Why does my artwork appear to be wavy or rippled in its
frame?
A:  Art on paper that has not  been permanently mounted to
board material can be affected by the environment in which it
resides (ie: your house!). Normal seasonal humidity may
contribute to paper's overall flatness. While it may be
ok to mount
inexpensive art such as posters, it is not recommended for
irreplaceable art or art that has monetary value.
(See
more about flatness)

Q: How long does it take to complete a custom framed order?
A: Our shop has a standard turn-around time that averages 3 – 4
weeks. Certain materials and large scale  projects can further
increase the length of time necessary for completion.
While we generally maintain a “first come, first served” policy, we
do reserve some flexibility and we can accommodate the need for
faster service. Some treatments and solutions allow us
the ability to turn around framed pieces "while you wait" or same
day.

Q: Do you frame art in “clip” frames or do you offer any other
type of “frame less” presentation treatments?
A: We do not frame art in any type of “clip” frame. We feel that it
is a poor framing solution and is best left to people who like to
“do it themselves.” The closest "frame less" solutions we have
are very sleek, “acrylic box” frames. Come to our shop to see a
sample!

Q: Will you mat and install my art into a frame I supply?
A: Yes. If the materials supplied are deemed stable enough we
are happy to utilize outside materials.

Q: Do you offer any in-home art hanging services?
A: We do not offer any hanging services at this time. Although we
do not have any particular company we would recommend, we
suggest looking for
art handlers who might be able to help.

Q: I don’t want to spend a lot to frame my large (30” x 40”)
poster. Is there a way to frame it inexpensively?
A: We do have some less expensive solutions for framing large
items. Unfortunately the costs of materials and the labor involved
in “framing large” do tend to be exponentially more costly. The
base price for framing a 30” x 40” poster with reg. glass and acid-
free backing would be approximately $175.00.

Q: Do you give volume discounts?
A: Discounts are not regularly given. However, certain conditions
may leave this option open for negotiation.

Q: Do you offer any ready made frames?
A: We offer a selection of well-made, ready made frames in
standard sizes: 8” x 10”, 8  ½” x 11”, 11” x 14”,
16” x 20” and 18” x 24”.
